Daughter and I look forward to Grand Magical Christmas Parade yearly. This happens in one of the malls near our place. I forgot the first time it started but I’m sure me and my daughter were there. She was little that time and now that she is already 11, we still love to watch grand magical Christmas parade and take photos with them after the show. Here’s 2018 Grand Magical Christmas Parade happened last December 16. They will come back this coming Sunday. Just like the first one, the show will be seen 3 times on December 16 at 12noon, 3 pm and 6pm.
Here in the Philippines, one of the Christmas traditions is to do caroling. It starts once the dawn mass begins known as “Misa de Gallo” or “Simbang Gabi.” Carolers mostly children will be on their feet singing Christmas carols from house to house spreading the spirit of the season through songs. They are using handmade instrument using tanzans, empty can, spoon and other materials that can make sound. Popular songs in caroling are Jingle Bells, Ang Pasko ay Sumapit, Pasko na Naman and other tagalog Christmas songs. In return carolers receive money from the homeowner. But, not all the houses are kind enough to give money because some are saying “tawad” or it’s like saying forgiveness because the homeowner will not give money to the caroler. Caroling happens only in December so I think we should give money to the carolers because kids are happy even you give them little amount.
Have you experienced caroling when you were a child? I did this in my elementary days together with my cousins and friends. We were happy with the money we got for 9 days of doing caroling and divided equally.
Well, its been raining since the caroling started last Dec 16, I hope kids will drop by in the house and serenade us with Christmas songs. I hope weather will be good because its been raining since day 1 of December plus typhoon. We hope for a better weather in the coming days because Christmas already in 7 days.
Christmas once again, time is running so fast. I still remember our celebration last Holiday season. Now it’s the time to celebrate the birth of Jesus once again. As usual here in the Philippines, as early as September we start the celebration by hanging ornaments, christmas songs can be heard everywhere especially on different radio stations and many business establishments already selling items related to Christmas. And as early of September, many are already doing christmas shopping.
We put our Christmas tree last November 10. My daughter’s 10th birthday but we celebrated her birthday on the 11th of November. Well, i will not talk about my daughter’s celebration maybe in my other blog. Back to our tree, nothing new in fact same as last year. Our Christmas tree has combination of red and gold. We forgot to put Christmas light, we didn’t bother removing the ornaments for two weeks. But Christmas tree wouldn’t be beautiful without sparkling light. So, I removed all the ornaments again and put lights. Good thing, the old one is still in good condition so we didn’t buy one.
So here it is our Christmas tree for this year. I hope we will have a merry merry christmas not only for my family but all over the world.
Hello September, time flies. For sure i will be seeing Christmas decors in the mall, selling lanterns in the street and hearing Christmas songs. Here in the Philippines has the longest celebration and it is start when “ber” month comes. I don’t really watch TV shows but if I could, I watch, Its Showtime. It is a noontime show on ABS CBN. Earlier, in their opening number, the theme was Christmas. They sang different Christmas songs. So, it is really true Christmas here starts when September comes. We are always excited and look forward to holiday celebration but we can’t deny that it’s also means expenses. Oh well, Christmas only happens once a year so we need to embrace it and be happy for we are celebrating this yearly. God is good all the time.
This is my all-time favorite Christmas song, Christmas in our Hearts by Jose Mari Chan. The video is not mine. Thanks to the owner.
Hello December, why time is running so fast? So, unlike the previous years, we set our Christmas tree this year just few days ago. Before we did it right after All Souls Day but this year is different. It is not we don’t feel Christmas yet but I think we are just lazy to do it. Our christmas tree is huge, not sure though if it is 10 feet tall, but ours almost reach the ceiling.
So, last Dec. 3 we finally set it. Just like last year, the colors were combination of red and gold. We used the old ornaments but we add more balls. My mother bought bigger balls this time. As i said our xmas tree is tall so i think bigger ornaments are better. Last year we put big star on top but for this year we changed it just like what we saw in one of the malls here.
So this is it, our christmas tree for this year’s Christmas 2016. How about you? Have u set your christmas tree already? I bet the answer is yes. Advance Christmas greetings from my family to yours. May we all have a merry and joyous Christmas celebration.
Ber is here, it is only mean that starting from this month, September to December we will be celebrating Christmas already. We Filipinos celebrate Christmas the longest time than any other countries. As early as September, Filipinos are already starting the preparations for this special celebration. Some are already doing early Christmas shopping and planning. I saw Christmas tree and ornaments selling in the mall as early as August. I heard Christmas songs start playing on radio and everywhere. Indeed, it is in the air, time flies!
Last year, I didn’t plan the holiday ahead of time so ended up rushing everything. I don’t want this thing to happen again so as early as today I was thinking on what to give especially to my loved ones.
Anyway, here are my top 2 Christmas songs that I always love to hear because of the message of the songs. How about you any favorite Christmas songs?
It’s been raining here in my place since yesterday because of typhoon Nona (international name Melor). The sad thing is only few days to go before Christmas and we still experiencing typhoon. I heard another typhoon is coming after this typhoon Nona. Last night we were under signal 3 and as of today under signal 1. Despite of this, I’m still thankful because we are only experiencing rains and no power interruption. I hope this typhoon wouldn’t cause harm for all the affected areas since Christmas is approaching. Same with the other typhoon that PAGASA is also monitoring.
My daughter has no classes since yesterday. She wanted to go back in school because of their Christmas party this coming Friday. Aside from Christmas party, she was excited for Christmas cantata. This was their activity yesterday but since there were no classes until today, I don’t know when this activity will push through.
I wanted to go out also to buy gifts for her classmates but I’m lazy to do it because of the rains. So, I really really hope that this typhoon would leave our country and no casualty at all so we will have a merry merry Christmas.
Christmas is in the air, I can feel Christmas already in the house because of the huge Christmas tree in our simple abode. Well, 45 days to go before Christmas and we know that time flies. I’m sure many are already doing their Christmas shopping and putting Christmas ornaments in the house as early as September. We have Christmas tree already, thanks to my nieces and my daughter who set out tree for this year. This wasn’t new in fact we used this last year and we just made little changes like adding additional ornaments and Christmas lights. My mother wasn’t happy with the height of our tree because it almost reaches our ceiling. I’m not sure if this is 8 or 9 ft. but it’s really high. Well, we can’t do anything about it and beside its pleasing and the first to see in the house if there are visitors.
Christmas in the Philippines is not complete without Christmas decorations. You can see different decorations anywhere you go from simple to intricate ornaments. And speaking of Christmas decorations as I promised last night I will post our Christmas decorations in the house. Starting with our Christmas tree, for this year we chose red and gold poinsettia. It has Christmas lights and I bought the red star on top. So what do you think? You can leave your honest opinion about our Christmas tree, hehe …
We have this bell hanging in the living room. My mother bought this one; I was surprised because this bell cost $15.
This small Christmas tree is not new we used this last year but still looking good. You can put this in any place that is visible like in your table.
Another decoration hanging outside our door.
Outside you can see these decorations. You can observe the beauty of these decorations at night because Christmas lights are up.
You want more? Well, we have this lightning Santa and his reindeers. It looks like they are moving because of the effect of the lights. People passing by can view this outside. I think we used this for three consecutive years already.
I hope you enjoy looking our Christmas decorations even just on photos =). Anyway, care to share your Christmas decorations? I’m sure all are set because nine days more left before Christmas.
